Other income

The company's income that is not a sales invoice from its own trade. It behaves as a sale in every respect, but it has its own list, apart from sales invoices.

Documents › Sales › Other income

What the type is for

Other income holds the company's income that is not a sales invoice from its own trade and that still has to be recorded and posted. Which document belongs here and which belongs in sales invoices is your call when you upload it.

To Dijit it is a sale in every respect: your company is the issuer, the client is the recipient, the accounting classification offers sales accounts and the operation type is a sales one. The one thing of its own is that it has its own list, just as expense invoices have theirs, apart from purchase invoices.

The list

Documents › Sales › Other income

The list works like the sales invoice one: the same columns, the same filters, the same statuses and the same batch actions. It loads in batches, like every other list, as set out in How records load.

The two lists never mix: an other-income document does not appear in sales invoices, and a sales invoice does not appear here. If you cannot find a document, check first which list you uploaded it to.

Issuer, recipient and tax

Open the document and the general data behaves as it does on a sales invoice:

Every field is covered in The header fields.

On the dashboard

The dashboard's sales card does not include other income in its total: that shows underneath, on a line of its own that only appears when there is an amount.

It does count towards the result card, which takes purchases and expenses away from sales plus other income. That way the result adds up even though the two totals are shown apart.

How they are uploaded

Like any other document, by choosing the type as you upload it, as in Type and project on upload. On a phone the home screen has its own button, Upload Other Income, covered in Uploading from a phone.
